Established in 2025, Find Your Wild empowers Union University students to break free from routine, connect with nature, and discover adventure at Middle Fork Bottoms.

About Middle Fork Bottoms & Find Your Wild

Middle Fork Bottoms State Park is a natural escape just outside Jackson, TN, offering scenic trails, serene waterways, and abundant wildlife for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're kayaking through the wetlands, hiking through the forested paths, or simply soaking in the beauty of the open sky, Middle Fork Bottoms provides the perfect space to reconnect with nature. With a commitment to conservation and recreation, the park has become a go-to destination for those seeking adventure and tranquility.

It all began as a local restoration project, transforming once-forgotten land into a thriving outdoor haven. Over the years, Middle Fork Bottoms has grown into a beloved community space, drawing students, families, and nature lovers alike. As more Union University students discovered the park, a movement started—one that embraced the need for balance, adventure, and a deeper connection to the outdoors.

This passion led to the creation of Find Your Wild, a student-founded club designed to bring Union students together through shared outdoor experiences. Established in 2025, the club fosters adventure, wellness, and community by encouraging students to step outside, explore, and make memories in the wild. What started as a simple appreciation for nature has now become a thriving group, inspiring students to find their wild—together.

About the Founder: Bailey Hughes

Bailey Hughes has always had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether hiking, kayaking, or simply enjoying the fresh air, nature has been her place of adventure and renewal. When she learned that a new state park was being developed right in her college town, she saw an opportunity to do more than just explore—it was a chance to bring others along for the journey.

With a passion for community and a desire to help fellow students step outside their routines, Bailey took the initiative to create Find Your Wild in 2025. Through this student-led club, she hopes to inspire others to embrace the outdoors, build meaningful connections, and discover the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature. Her vision is to make Middle Fork Bottoms not just a park, but a gathering place where Union students can find adventure, balance, and a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
